Doctor Rules Isaac Hayes Died of Stroke

Two days after the death of legendary soul singer Isaac Hayes in Memphis, a Shelby County Medical Examiner has concluded that Hayes died of a stroke. On Sunday, Hayes was found dead on the floor of his home next to a runner’s treadmill but displayed no obvious signs of physical injury that would indicate Hayes died as a result of an accident while working out in his home. Instead, as Reuters reports, Dr. David Kraus of Memphis confirmed that Isaac Hayes, 65, died of a stroke, the second Hayes had in a year after he suffered a mild, non-fatal stroke in 2007. Although the world is still mourning the loss of a great musical talent, Hayes’ family accepted the doctor’s conclusion.
