Guns N Roses’ Chinese Democracy and Exclusive Release?
August 15, 2008

If the latest reports prove true, the long-awaited Guns N Roses album Chinese Democracy might be closer to seeing the light of store shelves after fourteen years of fits, starts, speculation, various rumors, and a series of leaked tracks earlier in the year. According to Billboard, the latest update has it that sources are revealing talks are underway to release Chinese Democracy as an exclusive album release at either Wal-Mart or Best Buy while negotiations also continue to explore releasing Chinese Democracy through traditional distributors.

Although none of the players involved have commented on the issue, the latest update has led sources to believe Chinese Democracy might soon be a reality and not just fodder. According to sources, including both Billboard and Reuters, the new Axl Rose fronted version of GNR sans former members Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum are managed by Front Line Entertainment, which has earned a reputation for striking exclusive album deals with retails chains, including the top selling Wal-Mart Eagles release of Long Road Out of Eden.

So when Chinese Democracy is finally released, do you think Axl will still have enough juice in the tank for a tour? We hope so.
