Kids in the Cards for Ellen and Portia?
August 21, 2008
After walking down the aisle to tie the knot in a quiet ceremony in Los Angeles last weekend, popular daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and actress Portia de Rossi are now enjoying newfound wedded bliss. However, now that DeGeneres and de Rossi are a married couple, questions have surfaced on whether the newly connubial couple will start a family after de Rossi spoke with People magazine regarding their desire to raise children.
As de Rossi recently told the magazine, it appears both Ellen and Portia talk frequently about staring a family but, as The L.A. Times quotes de Rossi, incorporating kids into their new marriage isn’t in the “immediate future.” Ellen on the other hand revealed that both recognize the responsibility of having children and the amount of work it takes to raise a family.
Given their busy schedules, it’s hard to think Ellen and Portia would start a family any time soon. However, given the fact that Ellen is 50 and Portia de Rossi is 35, raising kids could be in the cards within a decade given the unique dynamics of their age gap. If they were to have kids, waiting a few years might be the best option, especially since Ellen is at the top of her game as one of daytime’s most popular talk show hosts behind Oprah.
