September 2, 2008

On the heels of casting Brad Pitt, Mike Meyers, and director Eli Roth in his upcoming World War II film Inglorious Bastards, Quentin Tarantino has cast German born actress Diane Kruger in the role Bridget Von Hammersmark, a German actress who aids a band of Nazi killers in their efforts to penetrate a movie premiere to further their mission.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Kruger, who was previously seen in Troy and National Treasure, landed the role that was originally slated for Nastassja Kinski and will put multinational skills to work by acting in both German and English in Inglorious Bastards, which begins filming on October 3 in Germany.

Also landing a role in Inglorious Bastards, German actor Til Schweiger will join Pitt, Meyers, Roth and crew as another member of the American Nazi hunting squad. As Hollywood Reporter reveals, Tarantino’s upcoming Inglorious Bastards "... revolves around a French girl's revenge on the Nazis and also follows a band of American Nazi killers. Both story lines eventually converge."
