Director Vadim Perelman in talks for Poltergeist Remake
September 2, 2008

Twenty six years after the original Poltergeist scared the pants off a generation of kids in leg warmers and headbands, word comes down the pike that MGM is in talks with House of Sand and Fog director Vadim Perelman to step behind the camera for the upcoming remake. Although the horror website BloodyDisgusting.com unofficially reported the news a week ago that Perelman was in negotiations to helm the new Poltergeist, Hollywood Reporter chimed in with their own Poltergeist - Perelman story that confirmed the news.

In 1982, Poltergeist was co-written by Steven Spielberg and Tobe Hooper, who directed the original during Spielberg's landmark days of E.T..

Vadim Perelman's most recent turn behind the camera was the 2007 film Life Before Her Eyes, starring Uma Thurman and Evan Rachel Wood.
