No New Moon Kiss Between Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner?

Given the recent Twilight Saga photo news of a New Moon kiss between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, Twilight and New Moon fans may be wondering about a kiss between the Bella Swan character of Kristen Stewart and the Jacob Black character of Taylor Lautner in the Twilight Saga sequel. Most Twilight Saga fans already know the New Moon story from reading the Stephenie Meyer penned novel, which [SPOILERS] sees the Robert Pattinson vampire Edward Cullen leaves Bella Swan only to see Taylor Lautner and New Moon werewolf Jacob Black swoop in to comfort Bella in her time of Twilight rebound. The issue is that Twilight and New Moon fans now have a problem with the various New Moon stills on the web that hint at a kiss between Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart, Bella and Jacob, which deviates from the New Moon novel.
To ease the minds of Twilighters, MTV sat down with New Moon director Chris Weitz to find out if Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner do indeed kiss in New Moon. Although a New Moon kiss between Lautner and Stewart almost happens in the New Moon novel, Twilight fans can breathe a sigh of Bella and Jacob relief since Weitz revealed that the movie New Moon stays true to New Moon, the novel.
When MTV asked Chris Weitz whether Twilighters will see a kiss between the Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner characters, Weitz responded, "I can assure you we're staying very, very close [to the book]," adding. "No one will feel that I have betrayed Edward and Bella's relationship."
